As a fully qualified osteopath with close to thirty years experience, I am truly skilled and passionate about treating a wide-ranging and complex variety of body issues.

I am lucky to have many loyal patients who have been under my care for most of my career in which many thousands of people have been treated.   I am known as thorough, patient, kind and gentle in my approach.

Fortune smiled on me early in life, as I grew up on a farm, an Arabian Horse Stud west of the Blue Mountains.  We bred Hereford cows, had an organic herb garden, and lived a free and healthy lifestyle.  My mother was my greatest inspiration. She baked our bread, grew most of our vegetables, and milked the cow daily.

From an early age, I was fascinated with the human body and the way it moved, how exercise worked, and why there was dysfunction, pain and discomfort.  My interest in Osteopathy developed after my father started experiencing back pain and found relief through manual therapy rather than medication.

I completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Anatomy at the University of NSW and went on to study at The International College of Osteopathy, graduating in 1986. I have worked in Sydney since then with a few years in regional NSW early in my career.

Fast forward to the present:  I am a mother of two wonderful adults, have a strong connection to nature, especially the sea and the countryside, and my must-do morning ritual consists of a gentle yoga class followed by a barefoot soft-sand beach walk, a dip in the ocean, and finally a coffee.

Why should you visit me?

People come to me because:

  • I am skilled in treating the dysfunction in biomechanics of a wide range of people including children, the elderly, sports people, sedentary older people, pregnant and postpartum women, as well as anyone who is experiencing pain and discomfort with their muscles and joints.

  • I am gentle and thorough in my approach, allowing 45 minutes to an hour for each patient and do not use assistants.  I will be with you for the entire duration of your treatment, giving you a comprehensive assessment of your body’s biomechanics, rather than ‘spot’ treating an issue

  • I am used to finding myself being referred the ‘impossible’ and ‘last resort’ cases.

  • My love of yoga and other forms of exercise has given me an intricate understanding of some of the more hazardous errors made as a result of certain poses.  Advice regarding the safest techniques is offered during the course of a treatment

  • My consultations involve taking a full history, examination, movement assessment, treatment and formulation of a personal corrective exercise prescription, all aimed at trying to restore balance and relieve strain within the body

The techniques I use

  • Deep tissue massage

  • Joint mobilization

  • Myofascial release and activation

  • Lymphatic drainage

  • Corrective exercise advice

  • Advice on potential strain associates with whatever forms of exercise you do such as weights, pilates, yoga, running, surfing.

  • Guidance on managing your condition to avoid further episodes of the injury / strain

  • Advice on occupational stresses and strains such as how to sit at your computer

What I believe

I believe that every person/ case is unique so hands-on treatment, exercise plans and lifestyle advice should be tailored to each patient’s individual requirements.
